Lyra Dorian

One of the most popular (and one of the best) £500-£600 cartridges. We have had excellent results in a wide range of turntables and arms, including the Nottingham Analogue products.

The "budget-priced" Dorian offers 0.6mV of output and a recommended tracking force of 1.8-2gm. MF: "The Dorian's transparency, transient speed, rhythmic solidity, resolution of low-level detail, and taut, well extended bottom end brought an overall balance and musical excitement that I've yet to hear from any cartridge competing at this price." While the Dorian is Lyra's lowest cost model, it benefits from advanced, proprietary design elements unique to Lyra, and is entirely hand-made to Lyra's quality standards. A custom Lyra-designed cantilever/coil/diamond stylus assembly with boron rod cantilever and MicroRidge natural diamond, line-contact stylus manufactured by Namiki is used for the Dorian.

Output of 0.6mV is higher than other Lyra models and less demanding of phono amplification. The Dorian's tuning for a warm and lively sound is designed to maximize enjoyment in lower to medium cost audio systems.
